THE STRUCTURE
With each region of the Hierarchy of Worlds explained, here is where I will put the meaning of each part of this structure so that it is simple to understand from the point of view of a common reader.
Human World
-Basically your conventional infinite multiverse. There are an infinite number of universes,timelines,space-times branching infinitely for an infinite number of possibilities and an infinite number of outcomes for each possiblity.
Basically the Many Worlds Interpretation of Quantum mechanics wich dictates that there are infinite outcomes for each action, each outcome being real in one of the universes of the multiverse.
Possibilities/space-times/timelines = universes.
Network
-The Network lies between the connection between the worlds.
-It's multi-layered.
-It's bellow the Digital World in-between the Digital and Human World.
-Endless data is transferred through here.
Dark Area
-The Dark Area is beyond the Human World and Network. It's in a hierarchical position comparable to the Digital World. However, since the Dark Area is capable of erasing the Digital World, Human World, etc, and is said to be the opposite of the Kernel (Heaven), you could argue that it's in a position comparable to the Kernel.
-Time doesn't exist within it nor does conventional space.
-Each Digital World (Yggdrasill's DW, Homero's DW, etc) has its own Dark Area. It's multi-layered and the deepest known layer, Cocytus, is shared by each Dark Area and Digital World (there's only one Cocytus).
-It's a place of infinite darkness that can turn the Digital World into nothingness. It can also engulf the Digital World and Human World.
-Kernel and the Dark Area are exact opposites (Heaven and Hell).
Digital World
-The Digital World is multi-layered with universes (possibly multiverses) existing within the layers. They're also many other types of dimensions within the Digital World as well.
-The worlds within the layers seem to have their own worlds and timelines.
-Above the various layers of the Digital World exists the Holy Beasts' domain, which is the highest level of the Digital World; the Digimon equivalent to Olympus. It's said that this domain is the closest to the "Gods", which would most likely be referring to the Kernel.
-The Digital World is hierarchically beyond the Network (multi-layered) and the Human World (an infinite multiverse). The Digital World is overall superior to the Human World in both size and complexity. It's a higher dimension (in fact, each layer can be seen as a part of the hierarchy) to the Human World, just like how the Kernel is a higher dimension to the Digital World, and so on working with the outflow theory of Neoplatonic Emanationism.
-They're three Digital Worlds: Yggdrasill's Digital World, Homeros' Digital World, and a third. Any other "Digital World" would exist within one of these.
-The three Digital Worlds should be in a similar position to each other, with them existing beyond the Network (multi-layered) and Human World (an infinite multiverse).
-Each Digital World has its own Dark Area (multi-layered) and the lowest layer, Cocytus, connects all Dark Areas and Digital Worlds.
-It's completely beyond human understanding, etc.
-It can't be measured.
Each layer has its own laws of physics, inhabited Digimon and different time progression making it a completely different world
All analog human worlds are scattered around in the middle of the Digital World
It stands at a higher structural level to the point it encompasses the Human World.
Infinity Mountain (some stuff for the Infinity Mountain would also apply to the Kernel)
-Above the Digital World, there's the Infinity Mountain, which currently has 100 floors, with each floor being a different dimension (it's possible not all of them are dimensions, or at least not all of them are a part of the hierarchy). At the very top sits the Kernel, which is Yggdrasill's domain. In order to reach the Kernel, you need to go through each floor of the Infinity Mountain until you reach the top, floor 100, the "center of the world", which is the Kernel, Yggdrasill's domain.
-Hyperspace/Superspace was used for here (and Binary Castle). In this context, it's not being used for simply something that allows FTL travel or anything along that. It's clearly referring to higher dimensions (add these statements, then the dimensionality statements, then the statement of this place existing in the depths of the Digital World [depths = higher in this context], then the top floor being the Kernel, a confirmed higher dimension, etc. The Infinity Mountain is clearly a place of higher dimensions, although we don't know if each floor is a higher dimension or even a dimension. With that said, you shouldn't be able to reach a higher dimension by simply going up floors. These floors literally allow you to get closer and closer to a higher dimension above everything in the Digital
World. And the top floor (100), is the Kernel, a confirmed higher dimension. So I would think that these floors have to be some kind of dimensions or higher dimensions as well).
-It's boundless.
-Has dimensionality statements up to 24-Dimensional.
Kernel
-The Kernel is a higher dimension that sits at the top of Infinity Mountain.
-In order to reach the Kernel, you need to go through each floor of the Infinity Mountain until you reach the top, floor 100, the "center of the world", which is the Kernel, Yggdrasill's domain. Yes, the "Kernel" is just another floor it seems, albeit at the very top.
-They're various areas within the Kernel, such as the "True Kernel".
-It's far above the space-time of the Digital World.
-Overlaps all the textures/appearances of the Digital World.
-Full control over the Kernel gives you the power of omnipotence, and only God can have full control
over the Kernel. Spiral, Humans, and Digimon cannot control the full power of the Kernel. Only God.
-Kernel and the Dark Area are the exact opposites (Heaven and Hell)
Digital Space
-Digital Space is beyond the normal flow of space-time, and they're statements of "transcending dimensions" that are likely referring to Digital Space. It can be used to travel between various worlds of the Digital World.
Super Dimensional Space-Time
-The Super Dimensional Space-Time exists beyond all worlds and space-times. It has similar properties to Digital Space, but it isn't the same thing. Digital Space is already outside of the normal flow of space-time, and they're statements of "transcending dimensions" that are likely referring to Digital Space. The Super Dimensional Space-Time is beyond Digital Space.
Worlds that are ultradimensional/hyperdimensional
-These worlds are completely beyond conventional higher dimensions and are no longer considered as higher dimensional, but ultradimensional/hyperdimensional. This can also imply that the worlds below it are higher dimensional (such as the Digital World).
-They're all still a part of the hierarchy though, just ultradimensional/hyperdimensional. The Eaters consume data throughout the hierarchy of worlds, which includes the Digital World and Human World.
-The Eaters' world is one of these worlds, and it's beyond our understanding, our imagination, and even our ability to comprehended. The Eaters also don't have any concept of time nor capacity limit.
-The Eaters induce Digital Waves, which changes reality around them, changing everything into data and making it more complex. Basically making lower dimensional space more complex. Digimon have to do something similar (so do Spirals).
-The Eaters exist in regions that cannot and must never be accessed.
-According to Suedō, the Eaters world is only a part of a vast system known as the Great Intent or Works of the Gods (or God).
Also, as I said elsewhere, two/both worlds (or universes) can include all Digital Worlds and Human Worlds depending on the context, especially with how the cosmology works with the Digital World (a large world with many other worlds within it that transcends the Human World). It's like saying both/two multiverses.
The higher dimensions in CS are different than conventional higher dimensions - they're not higher dimensional. They're still a part of the hierarchy obviously, just at the very top of it.
This can also imply that the worlds below the ultradimensional worlds are higher dimensional (or simply more higher dimensions), which fits what we know about Digimon having a world hierarchy, with the Digital World and other worlds existing beyond the Human World. At the very bottom is the Human World, your classic infinite multiverse. At the very top are the ultradimensional worlds. The Digital World, Dark Area, Infinity Mountain/Kernel, etc, are between the two. It's all a part of the same hierarchy.
The ultradimensional worlds imply that worlds below it are higher dimensional (and if you wanna ignore the ultradimensional stuff, it still implies more higher dimensions below it) .
Some statements (and stuff) that we have for the worlds below the ultradimensional worlds:
-Higher worlds and lower worlds
-Higher layers/levels and lower layers/levels
-Higher planes
-Worlds existing above/beyond other worlds
-Worlds transcending worlds
-Worlds existing on a higher structural level
-Worlds existing far beyond space-time
-Dimensionality statements for 6D, 12D, and 24D (numbered dimensions have been used for worlds beyond other worlds as well).
-A statement of a "world hierarchy", which includes all of the worlds (ultradimensional worlds, Kernel, Digital World, Human World, etc - it all belongs to the same hierarchy). They're other "hierarchy" statements out there (mostly from Tamers)
-Hyperspace/Superspace was used for the Infinity Mountain and Binary Castle. In this context, hyperspace/superspace isn't for something to allow FTL travel, but likely higher dimensions (this is the place with dimensionality statements, existing beyond the Digital World, with the Kernel existing at the very top and being considered as a higher world. The "far beyond space-time" statement is likely for this place as well)
-Digimon's cosmology structure is based on neoplatonic emanationism, with higher levels of existence transcending lower levels of existence (again, this includes all of the worlds)
-Digimon, just like Eaters, have to do similar things to travel through the world hierarchy. Such as making the lower dimension more complex, etc
-The Digital World is completely beyond human understanding. Digimon are beyond human comprehension/imagination/etc (fits with the Eaters and their dimension)
-Etc
"Infinite statements. Or they're just infinite+infinite."
In Digimon, they're worlds that have been said to be "infinite". Some of them are just that; infinite dimensions. Some are worlds that belong to the hierarchy of worlds, and thus are superior to worlds below them. For example, the Digital World was said to be infinite and transcends the Human World, an infinite multiverse. The Digital World isn't merely "an infinite world" though. The Digital World is a higher dimension compared to the Human World. Above the Digital World is the Infinity Mountain, which has statements up to 24-Dimensional, with the Kernel existing at the very top (confirmed to be a higher dimension). They're even more higher dimensions beyond the Kernel, such as the Eaters' higher dimension (one of many).
The higher dimensions that were mentioned in Cyber Sleuth are considered as legit higher dimensions by most. If that's the case, then the worlds below, such as the Kernel and Digital World, must be considered as legit higher dimensions as well. They're all a part of the same hierarchy. The only difference is the "higher dimensional" and "ultradimensional/hyperdimensional" stuff, which can confirm that the worlds below are higher dimensional. Even if the ultra/hyper stuff is ignored.
I remember people years ago said that Digimon doesn't seem to have cardinality or some along that. I don't fully understand that, but I think it had to do with infinite+infinite or something along that, which isn't the case with Digimon. The Digital World is a higher dimension to the Human World in the same way that the Eaters' world is a higher dimension to the Digital World. The Eaters' world (the worlds mentioned in Cyber Sleuth) have been accepted as legit higher dimensions, but they're not the only higher dimensions in Digimon.
It's all a part of the same hierarchy. The Human World is just at the very bottom, while the ultradimensional worlds are at the very top.
So we aren't dealing with infinite+infinite or just unquantifiably above infinity.
Even if a world is called infinite, there still could be more to it. The Digital World has been called a parallel world when it's different (it's been said to be "similar, yet not the same"). It could still be a higher dimension for example, not simply an infinite-sized world.
EDIT: They're infinite spaces that are supposed to be higher dimensions in some fictions (I think TES does. I'm sure comics have done it as well). In the end, what matters is how Digimon uses it. There's plenty of evidence that Digimon has higher dimensions, and they start once you go beyond the Human World. All of it is a part of the hierarchy, from the Human World to the Digital World and beyond.
"Layers don't always mean higher dimensions"
This is true, but we know the Digital World exists in a hierarchal position superior to the Human World. It's beyond it, superior to it, transcends it, etc. Moreover, the Digital World is a higher world to the Human World just as the Eaters' world is a higher world to the Digital World. The higher worlds in Cyber Sleuth were accepted as legit higher dimensions (and technically, they're not normal higher dimensions as they're ultradimensional). They're all a part of the hierarchy. The worlds like the Eaters are just at the very top, while the Human World is at the very bottom.
Layers = Lower/Higher Dimensions (most of the time). That can include levels, floors, planes, etc.
"So what worlds are beyond what? How many layers exist?"
Hierarchically speaking, some of the worlds would look similar to the example below (go from bottom to up):
-Ultradimensional Worlds
-Super Dimensional Space-Time
-Kernel
-Infinite Cauldron
-Infinity Mountain
-Digital World (multi-layered with worlds within the layers)
-Dark Area (not inferior to the DW; basically the DW's Hell. Each DW has its own Dark Area. It's multi-layered and the deepest known layer, Cocytus, is shared by each Dark Area and Digital World. There's only one Cocytus)
-Network (multi-layered 6 layers)
-Human World (an infinite multiverse)
I'm unsure exactly where some of these worlds fit in the hierarchy and some may be even the same worlds. And they're some arguments against the Network belonging to the hierarchy as well.
They're still many other worlds and many of these worlds are also made of various layers (Network, Dark Area, DW, Infinity Mountain, etc).
Worlds that I didn't include, but are among the hierarchy:
-Higher Plane mentioned in Ragna Lordmon's profile
God of Death World (beyond the DW)
-Underworld (most likely)
-Etc
They're also other worlds that should be in a similar position to the Digital World, with them being superior to the Human World.
-World of Dreams/Wishes
-The world where Demon was from (came from a world different than Devimon and Vamdemon)
-At Zero-Two's ending, some of the columns of light were drawn in many colors. Kakudou confirmed that they were representations of other worlds. These worlds should be superior to the Human Worlds
-Other Digital Worlds, such as Digital World: Iliad and the third Digital World
We also don't know how the other DWs fit into this, but my guess would be like the below:
Yggdrasill's DW | Homeros' DW | Third DW
-----------------------
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
-----------------------
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
-----------------------
------ = Layers
- - - - = Universes (possibly multiverses)
Yggdrasill's DW at least is made of various layers (part of the hierarchy as well) with universes (possibly even multiverses) existing within them.
The DWs are likely side-by-side of each other, possibly existing within an even larger layer.
We also don't know many layers the other DWs would have and if each DW has its own Human Multiverse existing below it.
Below the DWs, they're other worlds, such as the Networks. The Networks are multi-layered.
And as I already said, the Human World would be below the Networks.
So Yggdrasill's DW alone is a multi-layered with universes (possibly multiverses) existing beyond the Network and Human World. The other DWs would be in a similar position as Yggdrasill's DW, existing beyond the Network and Human World.
I'm sure people can see why I believe the other DWs could be other multiverses and they wouldn't be normal multiverses either.
I made another example using posts, threads, and even pages as well.
copy/paste
"Imagine each thread to be a layer (such as this one), with the posts within each thread being universes. The layers are a part of the world hierarchy. They're obviously many threads on the first page, with each one being a layer with universes within them.
The lowest thread would be the lowest layer, equivalent to the Human World. Each post within this thread (layer) would be universes/timelines. This layer alone is basically your classic infinite multiverse. It would be the lowest, smallest, etc, layer.
Each thread (layer) is superior to the last. So the second to the last thread would be superior, and the one above that would be superior to everything below it. This goes on until the very top.
You might be able to see each "page" as another collection of worlds, such as the Homeros' Digital World, the third Digital World, etc. These worlds should be in a similar position to Yggdrasill's Digital World, which transcends the Human World. In fact, according to Re Digitize (Decode), they're a variety of Digital Worlds, and all of them transcend the Human Worlds. We don't know how many layers would make up those worlds though (we don't know much about these worlds in general. Most worlds we've seen have been a part of Yggdrasill's DW)."
We don't know how many layers the Digimon cosmology has.
Some people on other sites see the Human World as 4D, with the layers of the Digital World being 5D, 6D, and so on. We don't know how many layers the Digital World is currently made out of, nor do we know how many layers exist beyond the Digital World.
We have the Human World, an infinite multiverse.
Then the Network, which is made of various layers. Some don't consider it a part of the hierarchy, some do.
Then we have the Dark Area, which is made of various layers, with the deepest known layer, Cocytus, being shared by each Dark Area and Digital World (there's only one Cocytus).
Then the Digital World itself, which is made of various layers with universes existing within the layers.
Then beyond the Digital World, we have Infinity Mountain (100 levels, dimensionality statements up to 24D, etc), Kernel (on top of the Infinity Mountain), Super Dimensional Space-Time, God of Death world, higher plane mentioned in Ragna Lordmon's profile, etc.
And even beyond those worlds, are even more worlds that are "ultradimensional", not "higher dimensional". Ultradimensional > Higher Dimensional
